On April 15, 2026, Berlin will host the third ministerial conference on Sudan. This official summit will welcome representatives from nations that have actively contributed to the conflict-in some cases, by supplying and supporting both warring factions.
While international actors convene behind closed doors, the immense suffering and critical perspectives of Sudanese civilians are systematically sidelined. This erasure is felt most acutely by those who are multi-marginalized across intersections of gender, class, and ethnic affinity.
We are convening this space to:
Amplify Marginalized Voices: Ensure an international audience hears the direct needs, demands, and lived realities of Sudanese civilians, centering perspectives that are too often ignored.
Expose International Complicity: Uncover and critically examine the foreign interests, systemic involvements, and actors that continue to fuel the war in Sudan.
Strategize for Peace and Justice: Develop and strengthen decolonial solidarity approaches, foster transnational movement building, and build actionable strategies to end the war and achieve sustainable peace with justice.
Our programme is split into two parts:
Our afternoon workshops offer dedicated spaces to unpack the complexities of the conflict. In the evening, we will gather as a wider community to share Sudanese food, listen to voices from Sudan, and strategize on how to build meaningful, decolonial solidarity.
Please note: This is a tentative schedule and is subject to minor changes.
The workshops will take place at the Department of European Ethnology of the Humboldt University with the evening programme taking place at the Evangelische Akademie.
